This page is about Krypton. You may be looking for Planet V, or Phaeton (hypothetical planet).

Not to be confused with the element.

Krypton is a hypothetical gas giant theorized by Michael Ovenden, who speculated that the planet used to exist between Mars and the asteroid belt. It was thought to be as large as Saturn, and it may have attributed into the formation of the asteroid belt. However, Krypton, along with Planet V and Phaeton, had been ruled out, as its now been considered that the asteroid belt is the remains of the protoplanetary Disk that never formed into planet, and that the amalgamation of any protoplanet's forming into planets was prevented by Jupiter's disrupted gravitational perturbation's, during the formation of the early solar system. Krypton is, of course, named after the destroyed homeworld of Superman.[1]
