Ceres

Ceres, the largest asteroid.

Minor Planets are small bodies in the Solar System that fail to meet the criteria of being a planet. These Minor Planets are separated into three groups: Asteroids, Centaurs, and TNOs. This is a list of every minor planet in our Solar System that has a diameter of 100km or above. It will include when and who they were discovered by, as well as their diameter in miles and kilometers. It will also show their unique classifications and will all be listed from largest to smallest.

Errors and Caveats

For a better understanding of this list, please read this information.

The Inner Solar System list is complete and very unlikely to be missing an asteroid. However, these diameters are just estimates, so this list will never be 100% accurate. Also, certain data like classifications or references are still being added, so there may be missing data for a while. The Centaurs and TNOs list is very incomplete and is still being worked on, so numerous objects may be missing and many inaccuracies will occur. Sizes of faraway asteroids that have also not been visited by spacecraft are still inaccurate in some way. Also, the listing of the asteroids might contain multiple inaccuracies, as most of the diameters are estimations based off of observations, and can look very different in reality. Please correct any wrong sizes or any other data, and also add the newest data if possible.

Asteroids

Asteroid Belt or Near Earth Objects

This article or list is incomplete. You can help the wiki by adding to the page.

Asteroids are the most commonly known minor planets in our solar system. Almost all of these are located between Jupiter and Mars, known as the asteroid belt.

Centaurs

Centaurs are small objects that orbit between Jupiter and Neptune. Not many large centaurs are known, but some TNOs could be partially classified as them, depending on if or how they cross Neptune’s orbit.

This list is currently under construction and may be missing lots of objects/data.

Trans-Neptunian Objects

Trans-Neptunian Objects, or TNOs for short, are small and icy minor planets located beyond Neptune’s orbit. Most of these are located in the Kuiper Belt.
