Asteroid Pallas
Observations and historical data have raised questions about the existence of moons around the asteroid Pallas. While several hypotheses have been proposed over the years, the evidence remains inconclusive.
Pallas I[]
Based on observations of the eclipse that occurred on May 29, 1978, scientists proposed the existence of a moon orbiting the asteroid Pallas. According to calculations, the diameter of the proposed moon is about 1 kilometer. However, its existence has not yet been confirmed.
Pallas II[]
In 1980, astronomers made another assumption about the presence of a moon that was believed to be located approximately 750 kilometers from Pallas. Preliminary estimates suggested that this moon had a diameter of about 175 kilometers. However, in the following years, new data obtained from subsequent eclipse observations disproved this theory.
