The Solar System Wiki

An acceptable image.

This page is about the Image Guidelines for The Solar System Wiki. Remember if you have any questions, please leave them in the comment box. If it is personal, post it on any administrator's message wall and I will get to them as soon as possible.

Image Uploading

Versions of Images The first set of rules is you are obligated to upload any image type: Portable Network Graphics (.png), Junior Pixel Group (.jpg) or Junior Pixel Expert Group (.jpeg), Graphic Interchange Factor (.gif), etc. except for bitmap, or .bmp, images. These files are too large when re-sized, can become fuzzy or even misshapen. Sometimes these bitmap images are not even able to upload according to Wikia standards.

Acceptable and Unacceptable Uploads

Acceptable Uploads You ARE allowed to upload images that fit the curriculum or subject relating to the Solar System. You may upload pictures of the planets, the Sun, etc. You are allowed upload photos with the permission of the creator of the image.

Unacceptable Uploads

You may NOT upload images that contain personal statements or harsh statements about others, nor images that do not fit the criteria of the Solar System. Photos that show humanoid appearances on planets, the Sun, etc. are not allowed because they are exaggerated and are not based on reality. Photos of anything disturbing or frightening are not allowed either. No sexual related reference is permitted either, for it does not fit the criteria of the Solar System as well.

No pictures from an electrical device (television, computer, iPad, etc.) is not allowed due to them being blurry and sometimes undetectable.

Background images can only be changed by administrators and bureaucrats in the Theme Designer. The Image Guidelines clearly specify that no inappropriate or unrelated photos are allowed to be uploaded, therefore this means no unacceptable photos may be uploaded as the background of the wiki.
