Punishments

This chart dictates the punishment one receives for breaking or ignoring one of the wiki rules.

  • Warning - posting one minor, harmful edit on a page, posting a rude comment on anything on the wiki. This is a message on the user's message wall informing them about their wrongdoing.
  • Reprimand - the above actions are performed repeatedly. Even after the reprimand is lifted, the user will permanently carry a "Reprimanded User" masthead tag and a "Reprimanded User" role in the Discord server (if joined). This is a final warning before consequences. Note: the reprimand template must be accompanied by a description template, explaining the reason for the reprimand.
  • Blockage (from one day to infinite) - vandalism; should be followed by a reprimand template and description.

By default, ban or block times are created by the weight and merit of the offense and sometimes are not necessarily the times listed on the chart above.

Note: Sockpuppetry to evade a block or reprimand is prohibited and will result in the blocking of the sockpuppet.

Creation of Pages

Pages on this wiki have certain rules, especially when creating them. Most of these rules of the creation of pages can be found in the Article Guidelines, yet some basic rules can be found below.

  • When creating pages, you are not allowed to leave the page blank, the user in question will receive a warning. The page will then have to be deleted or improved by any user.
  • When creating a page, no creative titles are allowed to be used. This may confuse the reader on what they are reading. The punishment for the user in question will be a warning, followed by the renaming of the page in question.
  • Any fan fiction-like writing on the wiki will be deleted and the user in question will receive a warning, then reprimand or ban if it persists. The only exception is for new users, as they do not know the wiki yet.
  • Any and all misinformation or blatantly incorrect information (e.g. from an unreliable source) is a reprimandable offense (warning for first instance).
  • Direct copying of a source such as Wikipedia is prohibited and violators will receive a warning followed by a reprimand if such behavior persists.
  • All pages should be formatted properly and cleanly. If this rule is ignored several times, a reprimand may be given.

AI Policy

AI has been permitted for use on the wiki, however it needs to be used responsibly.

  • Pages created with AI should have some user input that at least changes part of the page content.
  • Pages should have the AI attributed, though this is optional.
  • Pages created with AI must need references. If no references are included the page should be deleted, archived and marked for rewrite.

Editing

Editing must be of good faith. Edits that provide no useful value to the article of the reader may be moved or deleted upon sight by staff.

Edit warring is strictly prohibited. If the war persists for more than a day, a warning may be sent. For more than 2, a reprimand may be given.

Edit farming is also prohibited as it gives no information. A warning then a reprimand may be sent.

Deletion

For a page to be fit for deletion it must fit these criteria:

  • Not directly related to the Solar System (exceptions by merit)
  • Low quality or informal
  • False information is present
  • Completely copied/pasted from another source
  • Bad faith

Pages that are mostly fan fiction or have significant contributions are archived by default. To unarchive or undelete a page see the bureaucrat.

Plagiarism Policy

Any sort of copy/pasting from any source such as Wikipedia, is frowned-upon and forbidden. Violators will be warned then reprimanded if such editing behavior persists.

The following may be copied:

  • Quotes
  • References
  • Images (credit recommended to prevent copyright issues)
  • Numbers and statistics

Fan Fiction

Falling as a subcategory under the criteria of this wiki, no fan fiction may be placed on this wiki. Fan fiction is any fictional text created by a user. Anything considered fanfiction is considered under here either as examples or the actual names of possible fanfiction-like writing:

  • Indirect use of personification (such as Earth speaking to Jupiter)
  • Creating articles that display such typing (such as "The Chronicles of Saturn")
  • Placing space-related icons in fan fiction typing (such as Neil Armstrong talking to Earth's Moon)

If any user is caught creating fan fiction, they will experience a reprimand plus the deletion and archiving of their fan fiction writing. If more fan fiction is found from that user, the longer the ban (based on merit).

An exception to this rule are new users, as they do not know the culture of the wiki. They should only receive a warning.

Banning and Blockage

Administrators, bureaucrats, and moderators have the ability to ban/block users, yet there are certain rules for these bans, and for every rule, the longer the ban. The ban can even be extended for each offence a user commits. If an admin or bureaucrat decides to ban users that they do not have a liking to or any other unreasonable offence, said user will have all powers revoked and the user in question will have their ban/reprimand lifted.

If any user is caught unrightfully banning or blocking any user, the administrator or bureaucrat in question will be blocked for one week.

Requests for Ban

You may not request one for ban without the consent of administrator. You may also not request one for ban without an accurate or liable reason. These are some of the following reasons one can be requested for ban:

  • Continuous vandalizing of one article or numerous articles
  • Continuous vandalizing of talk pages on any user, including administrators (or admins), chat moderators, or other miscellaneous users
  • Disregarding or negligence to read any of the guidelines

NOTE: These are only few of the many reasons why one can be requested for ban. If none of the reasons listed above fit the reason you have in mind for a user, please contact an administrator.

All staff members must unanimously agree to approve the ban. If it is urgent, the user will be temporarily blocked and reprimanded until further notice.

Abusive Power

  • You are not allowed to give someone the right to be an admin without checking their user page first and then their page on their requests for adminship. Failure to do so will result in a request for ban.
  • If a staff member unrightfully punishes someone, they will have their rights revoked by a bureaucrat.
  • Any right given to a user that does not meet expectations of receiving that right will result in the administrator or bureaucrat having their rights revoked by another staff member, plus a one month reprimand.

Wrongful Grant

Granting powers to users is very important to the community. Administrators can give rollback and chat moderator powers. Bureaucrats can make administrators, rollback and chat moderator powers. These powers can be easily abused though if put into the wrong hands. If seen put in the wrong hands, the punishment we be stripping of those powers of both the granter and the user in question, and a ban for one week.
